ACCESS Students receive Graduation Certificates from Minister Counselor for Public Affairs, US Consulate, New Delhi at Hotel Dasapalla 
The second batch students (120 in all) of Access program from CHORD schools graduated with the English Access Micro Scholarship Program on the 12th of April 2017. This highly driven and passionate bunch of CHORD students have successfully completed the two-year Prestigious International Communicative English course with aplomb and have fittingly received their graduation certificates from the Chief-Guest of the occasion Mr. Jeffrey R Sexton, Minister Counselor for Public Affairs, US Consulate, New Delhi, and the Special Guest Mr. Gabriel Hons Oliver, Public Affairs Officer, US Consulate, Hyderabad. The graduation ceremony took place at hotel Daspalla Hyderabad where the dignitaries, teachers and students came together and enjoyed themselves in an air of celebration and accomplishment.
CAF Project visit and interaction with Skill Trainees
On 11th April, Mr. Pitta Prabhakar, Team Leader – Programmes from CAF-INDIA, visited CHORD’s skill development centres such as the Beautician training centre and Driving School at Yellammabanda, and Tailor training centre at Bollaram village.  Apart from inquiring into the current methods employed by the organisation in carrying out its training programmes, he also suggested new ideas where he saw scope for betterment. Mr Prabhakar actively interacted with the beneficiaries and trainers at the centres in trying to investigate how effectively the intended programmes are shaping out in uplifting the economic status of the individuals and communities involved. He concluded the visit by handing over certificates to qualified trainees.
QUALCOMM staff visits Girl Child Project 
Young engineers from Qualcomm India visited CHORD’s Girl Child Project on the 18th of April. A team of forty Qualcomm staff that included team-leaders, executives and interns put in efforts to brighten the day for our girl-students at the CHORD Aashirwad School, Kukatpally. The founder/president of CHORD, Mr. Suman Malladi addressed the Qualcomm team and had briefed them about the school and the organisation’s work amidst the urban poor. The Qualcomm team then split into five groups to address each of the five classes of the school and had engaged the pupils with various academic and extra-curricular activities, distributed goodies and certificates at the end. The involvement of the young engineers in the learning process made a substantial contribution in inspiring and motivating girl children towards education.
CHORD inaugurates Skill Training Centre at Mallavaram Village
CHORD has taken initiative to extend its Skill Development service to rural areas of Andhra Pradesh. The President of CHORD Mr Suman Malladi is keen on empowering the rural youth so as to equip them with employable skills. He thus counselled and encouraged the disadvantaged youth, in line with which a Driving School and a Computer Centre were inaugurated at Mallavaram Lanka, Narasapur, West-Godavari District on 23rd April 2017.
New Rural Computer Training centre Inauguration at Kandukuru
Mr. Suman Malladi, the Founder and President of CHORD has participated and supported the inauguration of Computer Training Institute at the Emmaus Ministries, Kandukuru, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana. The Programme works for the empowerment of rural women and youth. Mr. Suman, along with Dr. A Narasimha Rao, the RDO of the region and the special guest for the inauguration handed over certificates and had counselled the participants on the benefits of developing job-oriented skills in an ever changing globalised and competitive world.
Sensitization Workshop for CHORD school staff 
In accordance with the sensitisation face of CHORD’s Schooling, Skilling & Sensitising strategy, a workshop for the teachers of CHORD schools was conducted at Bachupally on the 29th of April. The workshop was constructed around the themes of GENDER EQUITY and CHILD RIGHTS. Ms. Devahi Selina, a Professional Counsellor and teacher served as the resource person. She took it upon herself to shock, move and educate the gathering with regard to sensitisation issues at hand. The participants of the workshop, teachers themselves, stood enlightened regarding various gender and child rights issues by the end of these highly invigorating workshop sessions. Ms. Manjulatha Malladi, Director of CHORD, made active contribution during the workshop in spreading awareness among the teaching staff.
Microsoft donates computers for Rural Development
Microsoft India has extended their charitable arm towards CHORD yet again this month. Microsoft India, our partner and donor for community building projects, has strengthened our skill development wing in Bollaram village by making a donation of thirty computers. These systems are set up in the computer training section of the skill development centre where they would equip the underprivileged youth of the Bollaram region in acquiring computer education. We are thankful for this charitable gesture by Microsoft India that is taking us one step closer towards empowering the disadvantaged rural youth.
